LabVIEW for Data Acquisition with CDROM by Bruce Mihura, The practical, succinct LabVIEW data acquisition tutorial for every professional. No matter how much LabVIEW experience you have, this compact tutorial gives you core skills for producing virtually any data acquisition (DAQ) application-input and output. Designed for every engineer and scientist, LabVIEW for Data Acquisition begins with quick-start primers on both LabVIEW and DAQ, and builds your skills with extensive code examples and visual explanations drawn from Bruce Mihura's extensive experience teaching LabVIEW to professionals. Includes extensive coverage of DAQ-specific programming techniquesReal-world techniques for maximizing accuracy and efficiency The 10 most common LabVIEW DAQ development problems-with specific solutions Addresses simulation, debugging, real-time issues, and network/distributed systemsPreventing unauthorized changes to your LabVIEW code An overview of transducers for a wide variety of signalsNon-NI alternatives for hardware and software "LabVIEW for Data Acquisition" includes an extensive collection of real-world LabVIEW applications, lists of LabVIEW tips and tricks, coverage of non-NI software and hardware alternatives, and much more. Whatever data acquisition application you need to create, this is the book to start and finish with. CD-ROM INCLUDED The accompanying CD-ROM includes an evaluation version of LabVIEW and key LabVIEW code covered in the book.
Applications of Statistics to Industrial Experimentation by Cuthbert Daniel, Mr. Daniel’ s book concerns itself with statistical aids available for the planning of industrial experiments and with the analysis and interpretation of the data collected from such experiments. In it, he questions some standard designs and procedures in analysis, contending that many can be checked only after the data are in. There are many detailed examples. Chapters 1– 3: Design of multifactor industrial experiments has become routinized. In addition, analysis of resulting data is often handle by computer programs long-since outdated— programs still being taught on the university level and still part of most statistical texts. Chapter 4: Here the study of data from simple two-factor three-level designs is carried further than in other available works. Spotting and interpretation of irregular results are feasible even in such small data sets. Chapters 5– 8: Size of industrial experiments is rarely determined by standard statistical criteria of power or by shortness of confidence intervals. The real criteria are usually time- and budget-restrictions, and nearness to final decision on marketability. Chapter 10: Blocking of factorial and fractional factorial plans is considered. Chapters 11– 13: The rationale of fractionation of factorial designs is given in new detail. Chapter 14: Clearing up residual ambiguities after completion of a fractional design is often proposed by way of doubling the amount of work really needed. Daniel points out that much smaller augmentations are often feasible, and their selection is detailed for many cases. Chapter 15: When smooth time trends (linear and quadratic) are known to occur, more efficient and compact plans than the usualblocked designs are possible. Here they are offered. Chapter 16: Serious examples of nested designs require special care— especially in analysis.
Near real time - The term near real time pertains to the delay introduced, by automated data processing or network transmission, between the occurrence of an event and the use of the processed data, e.g. Secure Real-time Transport Protocol - The Secure Real-time Transport Protocol (or SRTP) defines a profile of RTP (Real-time Transport Protocol), intended to provide encryption, message authentication and integrity, and replay protection to the RTP data in both unicast and multicast applications. It was developed by David Oran (Cisco) and Rolf Blom (Ericsson) and first published by IETF in March 2004 as RFC 3711. Real-time fMRI - Real-time fMRI, broadly speaking, is a type of fMRI in which reconstruction of the raw data obtained by the scanner is done while the scan is happening. In brain scanning, this allows individuals who are undergoing the scan to see the patterns of brain activation which they are generating in one or more regions of interest or ROIs. Graphics Environment for Multimedia - GEM (Graphics Environment for Multimedia) is a collection of externals (libraries) that provide OpenGL graphics functionality to pure data, a graphical programming language for real-time audio processing. It is Free under the GPL
